8. Wildlife Institute of India
It is an autonomous institution under the Ministry
of Environment Forest and Climate change, Government of India. It was founded
in 1982.The institute is based in Dehradun, India. Its main Objective is to
nurture the development of wildlife science and promote its application in
conservation, in consonants with our cultural and socio-economic milieu. Its
Key Functions include research in areas of study like Biodiversity, Endangered
Species, Wildlife Policy, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Forensics, Spatial
Modeling, Ecodevelopment, Habitat Ecology and Climate Change.WII has a research
